This weekly podcast about Bitcoin is the initiative of the Viennese financial journalist Niko Jilch. The goal: to strengthen and network the German-speaking Bitcoin community - and to bring the Bitcoin phenomenon closer to as broad a mass as possible.
We accompany this project as one of the main sponsors in this blog and also make all podcast episodes available here as a video.
Fab the Fox and Niko took the opportunity to record stock in the podcast. We learn how Fab went from being an altcoiner to a bitcoiner and how the bitcoin community in the DACH region came into being and grew. After all, Fab is also one of the co-founders of Twenty-One and always does the popular "The Way" episodes on the podcast.
But above all, they talk about the state of our world. The crises. The inflation. The growing discontent among the masses. "It's actually bear market, but it feels very different," Fab says. And he's right. Bitcoin conferences and meetups are booming, German ÖRR television is suddenly running well-researched Bitcoin reports. His Bitcoin publisher Aprycot Media has already sold 100,000 books and audio books this year. You have to imagine that.
Alongside the harsh reality of the poor state of our environment and economy, Bitcoin stands out as a unique way to solve various problems. Bitcoin as a fixed point of optimism, even hope. Fab also talks about how Bitcoin has re-sharpened his thinking and awareness about his life: "At some point you take a lot more ownership and say ok, even if I don't like what certain states are doing - to a good extent I'm responsible for what I do with it."
