This weekly podcast about Bitcoin is the initiative of the Viennese financial journalist Niko Jilch. The goal: to strengthen and network the German-speaking Bitcoin community - and to bring the Bitcoin phenomenon closer to as broad a mass as possible.
We accompany this project as one of the main sponsors in this blog and also make all podcast episodes available here as a video.
Charities Crypdonate supports include an orphanage in India and a project to help street children in Nepal. "You can't forget what a relatively small amount of money for us can do in these countries," Christian says. For just a few cents, for example, you can save a baby turtle in Indonesia. Another project helps disabled children in the Varanasi region of India. Another donation project finances eye operations in Africa to save people from blindness.
Niko thinks it is very important to bring the potential of Bitcoin and Bitcoiners to people and places far away from our comfortable western life.
Christian says himself that the charity scene is terribly "mendacious and corrupt." He says he wants to create a transparent counterpart - in the spirit of the Bitcoin ethos. But he also accepts other coins - under the motto "donate your shitcoin". The website gives a lot of info on the individual projects and the path of donations is easy to follow. Because in the end, the same applies here: Don't trust, verify.
Niko also announces that from now on 10% of all Value4Value payments his podcast receives will go to Crypdonate and thus to charity projects around the world. We at Coinfinity also help Crypdonate with their charity projects.
